At Goode's Riverside Creamery, dairy farming isn't just our business—it's in our blood. Owned and operated by Greg and Joy Goode alongside their three daughters Emily, Leann, and Breanna, our family-run creamery represents a labor of love that spans generations. Joy grew up on her family's third-generation dairy farm in LaRue County, while Greg's family transitioned from tobacco farming to dairy in 1995. After six years of research and visiting small dairy operations across multiple states, we opened our doors in Liberty, Kentucky with a simple mission: to prove that a family can still make a good living by staying small, staying local, and doing things right.
Our 50-cow herd at J-G Springs Dairy produces the freshest milk you'll find anywhere in Casey County. We're not exaggerating when we say fresh—the milk you buy today was likely produced by our cows this morning. Every bottle is pasteurized but intentionally not homogenized, keeping it as close to natural as legally possible and making it easier to digest for many people. Our small-batch ice cream, lovingly crafted by our daughter Emily, features 15% milk fat compared to the typical 12% found in commercial brands, creating that rich, creamy texture our customers rave about. We offer 16 rotating flavors, with our real-strawberry strawberry and butter pecan consistently topping the favorites list.
What makes us truly special is our commitment to transparency and community. Through the large viewing window in our retail area, you can watch your milk being processed and bottled right before your eyes. We regularly host school groups and FFA chapters, educating the next generation about where their food comes from while supporting other small dairy farmers in our county. Located at 6160 S US 127 in Liberty, we're proud to be a Kentucky Farm Bureau Certified Farm Market and a destination where quality, freshness, and family values come together in every scoop and every bottle.
