Foxfire Farm in Liberty, Kentucky, carries on a legacy of organic farming that spans more than three decades. Owned and managed by Aaron and Irina Lange, who took over from Aaron's parents after they had farmed organically on this land for 30 years, the farm stays true to its roots while bringing fresh energy to sustainable agriculture. Across their certified organic operation, Aaron and Irina grow over 40 different crops of vegetables, fruits, greens, and herbs using minimal tillage, space-intensive methods, and absolutely no sprays. Their philosophy is simple: healthy soil grows healthy plants that naturally resist pests and disease. To build that soil health, they dedicate a third of their outdoor fields each year entirely to cover crops, apply 150 cubic yards of compost annually, and rotate cover crops through all fields at least once per year. Their year-round CSA offers complete flexibility with a web-based ordering system that lets customers choose exactly what they want each week without the rigid commitments of traditional CSAs. You can find their produce at the Boyle County Farmer's Market, Lavern's Country Market, and Danville Nutrition Center, or better yet, join their CSA and get the freshest organic vegetables in central Kentucky delivered straight from the farm where feeding people and feeding soil go hand in hand.
